Topic-Based Health and Safety Training

The majority of workplace injuries, accidents and ill-health are avoidable and preventable by implementing safe working practices and good health and safety management. By saving money, improving productivity and raising workforce morale, effective health and safety management should be recognised as an essential element of a successful management strategy.

Learning is fundamental to individuals at work and the survival of organisations. In a rapidly evolving international marketplace with increasing pressures to perform financially and the use of new technologies to improve efficiency, individuals and organisations need to adapt to the changes in order to be successful.

When allocating work to employees, employers should ensure that the demands of the job do not exceed the employees’ ability to carry out the work without risk to themselves or others. An employee’s competence will decline if skills are not used regularly (e.g. in emergency procedures, operating a particular item of equipment or carrying out a task). Training therefore needs to be repeated periodically to ensure continued competence. This will be particularly important for employees who occasionally deputise for others, home workers and mobile employees.

People need to have a sufficient understanding of their responsibilities, the risks associated with their work and the instructions, rules and procedures in place if they are to work safely, this is where 360⁰ Safety Velocity can help.
